For compulsory social insurance participants
Based on Article 93 of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance, regulations on the form of pension receiving are as follows:
- Through the beneficiary's account opened at a commercial bank, a foreign bank branch established and operating in Vietnam.
- Directly from the social insurance agency or service organization authorized by the social insurance agency.
- Through employers.
For voluntary social insurance participants
Based on Article 114 of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance, regulations on the form of pension receiving are as follows:
- Through the beneficiary's account opened at a commercial bank, a foreign bank branch established and operating in Vietnam.
- Directly from the social insurance agency or service organization authorized by the social insurance agency.
How many days does the procedure for resolving pensions for compulsory social insurance participants take?
Based on Article 79 of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance:
Resolving pension benefits and one-time social insurance benefits
1. Within 20 days before the time the employee meets the conditions to receive a pension, the employer submits the dossier specified in Article 77 of this Law to the social insurance agency.
Within 20 days before the time of eligibility for pension, the person who is preserving the compulsory social insurance contribution period shall submit the dossier specified in Article 77 of this Law to the social insurance agency.
2. When employees are eligible for one-time social insurance benefits, they submit the dossier specified in Article 78 of this Law to the social insurance agency.
3. Within 20 days, excluding holidays and Tet, from the date of receiving sufficient dossiers as prescribed for applicants for pension benefits or within 07 working days from the date of receiving sufficient dossiers as prescribed for applicants for one-time social insurance benefits, the social insurance agency is responsible for resolving; in case of non-resolution, it must respond in writing and clearly state the reason.
Procedures for resolving pension benefits

Regarding pension receiving locations
The pension is not attached to the place where he used to work, but attached to the place where Mr. Minh registered to receive it. In other words, after retirement, wherever Mr. Minh lives, he has the right to receive the pension there.
In case you move your residence after receiving your pension, you can move your receiving address by submitting a request to change your pension receiving address. Update your new residential address or bank account.
