Metro No. 1 runs until 2am to take passengers out for New Year's Eve celebrations

HCMC - Metro Line 1 will run until 2:00 a.m. on January 1, 2025 to meet the increased travel needs of people during the 2025 New Year holiday.

On December 31, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport announced the adjustment of the train schedule for Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien). The operating time will be extended and the number of trains will be increased on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025.

On December 31, Metro Line 1 will operate a total of 220 trips, 1 hour longer than usual, from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Trains will run every 8 minutes during rush hour and every 10-12 minutes during other times.

On January 1, 2025, in addition to 200 daily scheduled trains from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Metro Line 1 will add 14 trains running between 0:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.

From Ben Thanh Station to Suoi Tien Bus Station, the first trip departs at 00:30 and the last trip departs at 2:00. From Suoi Tien Bus Station to Ben Thanh Station, the first trip departs at 1:03 and the last trip departs at 1:27.

According to Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) - the operator of Metro Line No. 1, from December 22 to December 30, Metro Line No. 1 ran 1,762 trips, serving about 998,000 passengers.

Notably, the two peak weekend days (December 28-29) recorded a spike in the number of visitors, with a total of 175,000 on Saturday and nearly 201,000 on Sunday, respectively.

Currently, Metro Line 1 is offering free tickets until January 20, 2025. After this period, customers can choose from single, one-day, three-day, and monthly tickets.
