On May 28, information from the Department of Construction said that the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance to work with relevant units to adjust the scope of the Amata Long Thanh City project to invest in the Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 2) in the form of public-private partnership.
The Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 2) to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, 5.2km long, is being built in Bien Hoa City and Long Thanh District to connect Ho Chi Minh City.
The project has a total investment of more than VND 2,476 billion, of which the cost of compensation and site clearance is about VND 6,500 billion.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 2) is an urgent project to achieve the goal of synchronization, promoting the effectiveness of the entire Huong Lo 2 route, as well as the Vam Cai Sut bridge that has been completed.
The Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 2) in terms of scale, in phase 1, will invest in the construction of a road with a cross-section of 24.5m, build an intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and build 6 reinforced concrete bridges on the route.
The entire Huong Lo 2 route has an starting point intersecting with National Highway 51 (Bien Hoa City) and an ending point intersecting with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. According to the plan, this will be a new traffic axis connecting Bien Hoa City with Ho Chi Minh City, shortening the distance and travel time, while contributing to reducing traffic volume on National Highway 51.
Previously, the Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 1), nearly 2km long, starting point from National Highway 51, was invested in construction. At the same time, Vam Cai Sut bridge on Huong Lo 2 has completed construction. Currently, we are just waiting for the Huong Lo 2 project (section 2) to start construction to connect to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
It is expected that the Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 2) will start construction in October 2026.
