A hydropower plant in Quang Ngai fined 700 million VND

Quang Ngai - Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. was fined 700 million VND for not being handed over land on the ground but having built many items.

Mr. Do Tam Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has just signed a decision to impose administrative sanctions on Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. headquartered in Suoi Loa village, Ba Dong commune, Quang Ngai province.

In the issued decision, Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee clearly stated that the violation of Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. is the use of land that the State has decided to allocate land and lease land, but has not been handed over land on the ground.

Specifically, Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. was leased land by Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee (Decision No. 484/QD-UBND, dated June 28, 2025) to implement the Song Lien 1 Hydropower project.

However, when the land was not handed over on the ground, Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. implemented the construction of a canal, in Ba Dong commune (formerly Ba Thanh and Ba Dong communes, former Ba To district), with an area of 14.85 hectares.

The above violation of Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. has been fined by Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee with a total amount of 700 million VND.

Forcing Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. to carry out procedures to be handed over land on the ground, the deadline for implementing remedial measures is 10 days from the date of receiving the decision.

The competent authority of Quang Ngai province clearly stated that Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. must strictly comply with this sanctioning decision.

If after the deadline, Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. does not voluntarily comply, it will be subject to enforcement according to the provisions of law, and for each late payment of the fine, Song Lien Hydropower Co., Ltd. must pay an additional 0.05% calculated on the total amount of unpaid fine.
