In Huu Lien commune, heavy rain from the night of August 20, especially the rain at 7:30 am on August 21, caused landslides on many roads, making travel difficult. The commune government is urgently overcoming the situation to ensure the safety of the people.

In Tan Thanh commune, deep flooding caused damage to many houses and properties. Ms. Do Hong said: "The water overflowed quickly and strongly, my family could not react. By this afternoon, it was more than 1m flooded, 50 sets of bowls and tables and chairs were washed away".
At the same time, in Tuan Son commune, prolonged heavy rain caused local flooding, water rose about 1m, and overflowed many households. The authorities were present in time to assist.

In Na Sam commune, according to Mr. Do Minh Tuan - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, there are 3 deeply flooded culverts, of which the Na Sam culvert across the Ky Cung river is about 1m deep, making it impossible for vehicles to pass.
"The flooded Na Sam tunnel means that the road from the center of the old district to Van Lang and Hoi Hoan communes is cut off. We have assigned forces to be on duty, preventing people from passing through to ensure safety," said Mr. Tuan.


By the afternoon of the same day, Tri Le commune recorded 16 landslides with a total volume of rock and soil of about 350 m3, many villages were isolated. Main roads such as District Road 59 (Van Gieng - Deo Com) and District Road 55 were eroded, causing the commune to be cut off. As of 4:00 p.m. on August 21, vehicles could not enter or exit the area.
According to the Lang Son Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from the evening of August 20 to the morning of August 21, the whole province will have moderate to heavy rain. Many communes are under flood, flash flood, and landslide warnings, including: Xuan Duong, Dinh Lap, Thai Binh, Nhat Hoa, Chau Son, Hung Vu, Kien Moc, Na Sam, Tan Tri, Tan Van, Thien Tan, Vu Lang, Vu Le, Yen Binh...

According to the quick summary report of the Civil Defense Command of communes in the province as of 5:00 p.m. on August 21, heavy rain has affected 85 houses due to landslides and flooding (including: 2 households had their houses eroded by rocks and soil, 57 households had their houses eroded by rocks and soil behind them; 26 households were flooded); about 315 hectares of rice and 186 hectares of crops were affected; over 38 locations were affected by landslides, with more than 1,000 m3 of soil and rock and some bridges and roads were flooded locally...
