At noon on September 6, the Ban Co Traffic Police Team, under the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police , set up a checkpoint to check and handle students violating traffic laws at the intersection of Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Dien Bien Phu (District 3).
At around 11am, the Working Group discovered NHM (born in 2009, Tan Phu district), driving a motorbike over 50cc, so they invited M in for inspection.
At this time, M could not present his driver's license or driver's registration, so a ticket was drawn up.
Working with the traffic police, student M said he was a 10th grade student at a high school in District 3.
For the above violation, M will be issued a ticket by the traffic police to temporarily impound the vehicle and receive a warning. At the same time, the traffic police will issue a ticket to fine the vehicle owner 1.4 million VND for handing over the vehicle to someone who is not qualified to participate in traffic.
When he heard the fine and had his vehicle impounded, M burst into tears and asked to take his vehicle back. "My house is far away, more than 10km from school, and my family cannot afford to buy a vehicle under 50cc, so we can only use this old motorbike to travel. Now that my vehicle has been impounded and I've been fined, I don't know what to do," the student cried.
At this time, a traffic police officer encouraged M, gave him money to catch another bus, and promised to help pay the fine when M's parents or guardians came to the police station to work.
Traffic police discovered another case of TNBT (born in 2009, Binh Thanh district), driving an electric motorbike carrying a passenger on the back but not using a helmet.
BT said that on the way home from school, she let her friend go with her, so she didn't prepare a helmet. "After today, I will be more careful and not violate the law again," the female student said.
BT then called the parents to come and resolve the issue. For this violation, BT will have his vehicle impounded and be warned, while BT's parents will be fined 1.4 million VND for giving the vehicle to an unqualified driver.
In addition, during the checkpoint, the Working Group also discovered and recorded many other cases of students violating Traffic Laws.
"For cases involving students, in addition to making a record of the fine according to regulations, the Traffic Police Team will summarize and report to the school where the student is studying," a Traffic Police officer informed.
