Creating direct jobs for more than 500 local workers
On June 23, according to Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV), General Director of TKV Group Vu Anh Tuan just chaired a working session to listen to the consulting unit's report, presenting the content of the feasibility study report of the project to expand and increase the capacity of Nhan Co Alumin Production Plant.
At the working session, the consulting consortium NARIME - TLUC - IBST COTEC presented the feasibility study report of the project to expand and increase the capacity of Nhan Co Alumin Production Plant. This is one of the key projects in TKV's strategy to develop the bauxite - alumin - aluminum industry, contributing to improving the efficiency of deep mineral processing and promoting socio-economic development in the Central Highlands region in a sustainable direction.
According to the report, the project has a production scale of 1.2 million tons of alumina/year, a significant increase compared to the current capacity, aiming to maximize the efficiency of exploitation of Tay Nguyen bauxite resources, maximize existing infrastructure and meet the development needs of the domestic aluminum industry. The total estimated investment of the project is about over 21.6 trillion VND. The project is assessed to bring many socio-economic benefits to the locality as well as the Tay Nguyen region.
According to the consulting unit, the project will create direct jobs for more than 500 local workers, and at the same time promote the formation of supporting industries, technical services serving production, creating indirect jobs for about 1,000 workers with stable incomes. The project implementation will also contribute to increasing budget revenue, creating motivation for socio-economic development and improving people's lives in the project area.
At the working session, leaders of TKV Group, members of the Appraisal Team, representatives of the Group's professional boards, the Project Management Board of Nhan Co Alumin Plant and the appraisal consulting unit focused on analyzing the contents of technology, investment efficiency, alumin consumption market demand, capital mobilization plan, risk factors and actual project implementation capacity.
Highly appreciating the efforts of the Project Management Board of Nhan Co Alumin Plant, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV and consulting units in the process of researching and developing reports, General Director of TKV Group Vu Anh Tuan requested units to fully absorb opinions, continue to review and update the contents to complete the Feasibility Study Report, ensuring a solid scientific and practical basis, and the feasibility of the report. The General Director requested to soon complete the feasibility study report to report to the Member Council for approval and submission to competent authorities.
Enhancing the added value of mineral resources
Lam Dong province is currently orienting industrial development towards modernity, greenness, sustainability and high competitiveness. Among them, processing, manufacturing, energy and mining industries associated with deep processing are identified as important driving forces to promote economic growth, economic restructuring and improve labor productivity.
Notably, Lam Dong province will form a coastal economic zone, industry clusters and industrial value chains; organize development space along coastal - plateau - coastal connecting axes associated with logistics systems, seaports, airports, key industrial parks and inter-regional economic corridors.
The linkage between regions is creating a premise for the formation of a complete industrial value chain from mining, metallurgy, energy to agricultural product processing, logistics and seaport services.
Among key industries, the bauxite - alumin - aluminum complex is identified as the industry with the potential to create the strongest growth momentum in the coming years. Currently, Lam Dong is the only locality in the country to simultaneously operate two industrial-scale alumin production complexes in Tan Rai and Nhan Co with a total designed capacity of more than 1.3 million tons of alumin per year.
According to the bauxite industry development plan, these two complexes will continue to be expanded by investing in a new alumin production line, increasing the capacity of each factory by about 1.2 million tons/year.
