On November 15, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Director of Lam Dong aluminum Company - TKV, said that according to the production plan from now until the end of 2025, the unit needs about 11 hectares of land for bauxite mining.

However, up to now, the Company only has a land fund of 1.3 hectares, so there is a risk of a shortage of soil for mineral exploitation for production.
Due to lack of land fund, the Alumina Factory is having to reduce its workload and is at risk of stopping operations due to a huge shortage of raw materials.
According to the leader of Lam Dong aluminum Company - TKV, regarding the land fund for bauxite mining activities, at the end of June 2025, the People's Committee of Bao Lam district (old) issued 2 decisions to reclaim land and hand over 50.82ha to the Company for ore mining.

Of which, the land reclaimed from Cong Vinh Tien managed by Dam Bri Protective Forest Management Board is 36.27 hectares and the 14.5 hectares reclaimed from Vinh Loc Seed Company.
However, during the process of Lam Dong aluminum Company - TKV clearing the site for mineral exploitation, because the entire area had been planted with coffee in the harvest stage, it encountered opposition from the people.

During this time, local authorities and authorities have repeatedly organized dialogues with dozens of households to resolve related difficulties and problems.
After a period of dialogue, on November 8, 3 households voluntarily cleared their crops and handed over 1.7 hectares of land to Lam Dong aluminum Company.
The remaining dozens of households still refuse to hand over the land and make requests to force Lam Dong aluminum Company to consider supporting the cost of assets and crops attached to the land to be recovered.
"The Company has considered all of the people's requests, but all of them are land recovered by the State and allocated to the unit, so according to regulations, support cannot be provided. However, when leveling and clearing the land, people obstructed it" - Mr. Phong said.
Currently, the Company has developed a plan to level and clear the mine site on November 25. At the same time, there is a document reporting to the locality and the competent authorities to support ensuring security and order.

After this time, if the land fund is not added, the Alumina Factory will have to reduce the load or stop operations, which is inevitable.
This affects the unit's 2025 production and business plan as well as the employment of nearly 1,400 employees at the Company.
