Always there when fishermen need
Mr. Tran Hoai Sang (born in 1987, residing in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen) is one of hundreds of fishermen in distress at sea who received timely support from the Navy Region 4. Mr. Sang was a crew member on the fishing boat PY 90036 TS. The fishing boat left the port in Phu Yen for Truong Sa to fish for tuna from November 2 until now.
While fishing, Mr. Sang suffered from a viral fever and a full-body allergic reaction. If not treated promptly, he could face the risk of serious complications. Faced with this situation, the captain of the fishing boat PY 90036 TS took the fisherman in distress to Truong Sa Island for emergency treatment. On November 20, ship 414 of the Command of Region 4, which was patrolling and controlling the Da Lat Island area, received orders from superiors and moved to Truong Sa Island to pick up the patient and take him to the mainland for treatment.
Returning to the mainland and receiving active treatment from medical facilities, Mr. Sang's health is now stable and he will soon return to the fishing boat to work.
Mr. Sang said that the timely presence of the navy and medical team on Truong Sa island is a great spiritual support that helps fishermen in the central provinces feel secure to go out to sea.
Along with supporting fishermen in distress, Navy Region 4 is also regularly present in Truong Sa waters to participate in towing fishing boats with broken engines and drifting at sea.
Recently, the Naval Region 4 Command organized a tow of the QNg 90969 TS ship, which had a broken engine and was drifting about 20 nautical miles east-southeast of Song Tu Tay Island, to the Song Tu Tay Island port area safely. Captain of the QNg 90969 TS fishing boat Nguyen Lanh shared that for many years, fishermen have been assured that there are functional forces and naval forces present in Truong Sa, ready to support everyone in times of trouble.
