On April 11, Nhon My Commune Police (An Giang province) said that they had received a report from people about the discovery of a 105mm artillery shell remaining after the war and promptly coordinated to handle it, ensuring the safety of the area.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi (born in 1966, residing in Long Hoa hamlet, Nhon My commune) during construction discovered a metal object suspected of being dangerous, so he reported it to the police agency.
Upon receiving information, Nhon My Commune Police quickly arrived at the scene to inspect and verify; and at the same time coordinated with the Commune Military Command to implement safety measures such as zoning, establishing isolation areas, not allowing people to access and arranging forces to maintain security and order.
Through initial identification, the object was a 105mm artillery shell remaining. Thanks to timely detection and proper handling, the area was safely controlled and no incidents occurred.
Nhon My Commune Police recommends that when people detect objects suspected of being bombs, mines, or explosives, they need to maintain a safe distance, not act arbitrarily, and immediately report to functional agencies for handling according to regulations.
