As one of the people who are about to have their pensions adjusted from July, Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen - a retired official in Dong Ngac ward, Hanoi - could not hide her excitement when mentioning this information.
“I used to be a retired teacher, currently my pension is about more than 11 million VND per month. Now that it has continued to increase by 8%, I am very happy. The pension increase not only helps our lives to be better but also makes us feel that the State cares for and recognizes our years of dedication,” Ms. Uyen shared.
According to Ms. Uyen, in the context of increasing living expenses, medicine, and food, every time pensions are adjusted, it is of practical significance. For the elderly, it is also a source of encouragement to live happily and healthier.
Not only satisfied with the salary increase policy, Ms. Uyen also highly appreciated the change in the service style of the social insurance agency. Having worked in Bac Ninh, after retiring, she moved to Hanoi to live and was worried that transferring dossiers and changing salary receiving places would take time.
“Initially, I thought there would be many complicated papers and procedures. But when I went to the social insurance agency in Hanoi, I was instructed very specifically, with a warm attitude, and quick handling. Pension transfer is much more convenient than I thought,” she said.
Sharing the joy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen - a retired official in Hanoi - said that the continued adjustment to increase pensions makes her and many people of the same generation feel more secure.
Retired people mainly live on pensions, so every time they receive a salary increase, they are more excited. We clearly feel that social security policies are getting better and better, more practical. Not only is money increased, but the way of doing procedures and receiving salaries is also more civilized and lighter than before," Ms. Chuyen shared.
According to Ms. Chuyen, currently receiving pensions through ATM accounts helps the elderly save time, without having to wait. When needing to resolve related documents, social insurance officials also provide clear and easy-to-understand support.
What I am most satisfied with is the convenience. Older people are often afraid of procedures, but now many stages have become simpler, and with careful guidance, I feel very reassured," Ms. Chuyen said.
According to Vietnam Social Security, a sociological survey in 2025 showed that the level of satisfaction of pensioners through ATMs reached 91.52% - the highest among groups benefiting from social insurance benefits. The level of satisfaction with administrative procedures of this group alone reached 92.09%.

Those figures more clearly reflect the effectiveness of administrative procedure reform in parallel with policy adjustments. For retirees, today's joy comes not only from the increased salary but also from the feeling of being served better, being given more attention in the journey of enjoying old age.
