On June 17, the People's Committee of Trung Thuan commune (Quang Tri province) said that a resident in the area died from being bitten by a venomous snake while going into the forest to pick medicinal herbs.
The victim is Ms. P.T. L (born 1978, residing in hamlet 1, Trung Thuan commune). According to relatives, before that, Ms. L and her husband went to the deep forest area to exploit water spinach - a natural medicinal herb that local people often harvest to dry and sell.
During the working process, Ms. L was unfortunately attacked by a venomous snake. Because the area where the incident occurred was deep in the forest, the terrain was dangerous, and there was no phone signal, taking the victim to the emergency room was difficult.
When taken to a medical facility, Ms. L's condition was very serious. Although doctors actively treated her, the victim did not survive.
After completing the procedures, the body was handed over to the family for funeral arrangements.
