The reason why the mountain top in Lang Nu makes a loud noise

Lao Cai - After approaching the scene, the military determined that the noise on top of Lang Nu mountain on the morning of November 29 was caused by a landslide.

On the afternoon of November 29, information from the leader of the People's Committee of Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province said that the military force had entered the scene to check the incident that was said to be an explosion accompanied by dust flying up at the top of Lang Nu mountain, Phuc Khanh commune, the same morning.

The test results showed that the location where the loud noise came from was the area where the landslide had occurred before. Today, part of the rock and soil slid down, creating the noise.

"The soldiers went to the scene to check and determined that the previous landslide still had some soil and rocks above it, most likely due to dryness, causing the landslide to slide downwards. The incident did not affect property or people," said the leader of Bao Yen District People's Committee.

Previously, informing Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Lang Nu Village Chief Hoang Van Diep said that at around 9am on November 29, some people were picking corn near the landslide area when they heard a loud explosion, and smoke and dust billowed up, covering the surrounding trees.

Fortunately, this area is uninhabited and uncultivated, so there was no damage. This is the same old landslide site from last September. The explosion site is about 2km upstream from the old Nu Village area.

Immediately after receiving a report from Phuc Khanh commune about the above incident, Bao Yen district urgently sent a working group to Lang Nu to investigate the cause of the incident, and at the same time grasp the situation to have a response plan if a dangerous situation occurs.

On September 10, a historic flash flood in Lang Nu village killed 60 people, with 7 still missing. To date, 87 people have been rescued.

On September 21, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 10-hectare resettlement area, about 3 km from the old location.

After two months, the construction unit of the Nu Village reconstruction project completed the roofing of all 40/40 stilt houses. For the community cultural house and school, the frame and floor have also been completed...
