On the afternoon of November 2, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the Politburo's decision on personnel work.
At the conference, the Politburo's decision was announced for Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, to cease participating in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and to cease holding the position of Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; to transfer, assign, and appoint him to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and to hold the position of Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
In his acceptance speech, the new Secretary of Khanh Hoa Nghiem Xuan Thanh expressed his deep gratitude to the Politburo, headed by General Secretary To Lam, and the leaders of the Central Organizing Committee for their attention and trust in assigning him to take on the new task.
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh said he accepted the new assignment with a mixed feeling of joy and anxiety.
We are glad that Khanh Hoa is a land with a long history and cultural tradition; has great space and potential for development, converging all the advantages for rapid and sustainable development.
The new Secretary of Khanh Hoa is also happy to take on the task at a time when the Party Committee and the entire political system in the province have the basic courage to overcome the most difficult and challenging period, mobilize the strength of the political system and the people to quickly restore the development momentum and achieve many important and quite comprehensive achievements in all fields...
When talking about concerns, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh acknowledged that Khanh Hoa is a large province with great potential for development.
Since then, the expectations of the Central Government, the Party Committee, the government and the people in the province for the breakthrough development of Khanh Hoa have also been very high, so he is aware of the heavier responsibilities and challenges. Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh described "the wider the sea, the stronger the wind and the bigger the waves".
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh is also worried because, after a number of incidents in the performance of official duties, a number of cases and incidents occurring in the area, the current concern is that a number of officials are showing signs of slacking off, showing signs of pushing things around, working half-heartedly, fearing responsibility, and not daring to do anything.
This practice has been happening in many localities in recent times and the Central Government has identified it and is resolutely correcting and overcoming it.
“Although I still have concerns, I have confidence and motivation. Firstly, I am trusted by the Central Organizing Committee and assigned tasks by the Politburo.
This is the biggest motivation for me to try harder to meet the requirements of the task" - Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh said.
