To celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), Ho Chi Minh City is expected to simultaneously start many key projects in many fields.
These projects are expected to create a strong "push" for public investment disbursement, shaping the image of a "super city" in the new development phase.
Currently, departments, branches, localities and investors are focusing efforts to minimize administrative procedures, ensuring the progress of starting a series of large-scale projects expected on April 29.

The first highlight in the projects is the Central Square and Ho Chi Minh City Administrative Center in Thu Thiem. The project has a total capital of about 31,500 billion VND, with a scale of more than 33 hectares in An Khanh ward. The highlight of the project is the 26-story bow-shaped administrative center building, directly connected to the square and Thu Thiem Theater, capable of serving about 15,000 people.
Along with the urban space group, the Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Landscape Park project (investment capital of about 20,100 billion VND, scale of 32 hectares) has profound historical significance. The project not only preserves heritage but also creates a large cultural activity spot for people along the Saigon River.

In the field of infrastructure, to clear traffic "bottlenecks" and regional linkages, urban railway line No. 2 (Metro 2), Ben Thanh - Thu Thiem section will be started with a total capital of about 46.300 billion VND. Nearly 6 km long, this is the 2nd section of Metro line No. 2 (previously, Ben Thanh - Tham Luong section) which started construction in early 2026, playing a vital role in directly connecting the existing central area with the new development pole of Thu Thiem.

Regarding education and training, the International University Urban Area in Hoc Mon (total capital of 59,000 billion VND) will be built into a large-scale education, research, and innovation center, creating a force to attract high-quality human resources to serve the economic restructuring of Ho Chi Minh City.

The simultaneous start of large projects in the second quarter not only expands the urban space after the merger, but is also a decisive "lever" for Ho Chi Minh City to complete the disbursement target, create jobs and break through growth in the pivotal year 2026.
