According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on January 4, on the Can Tho airport beltway (Binh Thuy district), construction items have been completed; many motorbikes, cars, and small trucks can circulate conveniently.
Ms. Bich Thuy (37 years old, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city) shared that she and many people living along the Can Tho airport beltway were very happy and excited when this road opened to traffic after about 5 years of construction. According to Ms. Bich Thuy, the road opening to traffic will bring many benefits to her family as well as the community.
“Previously, this road was unfinished and never finished, causing my family’s life to be disrupted, and every time vehicles passed through here, it was filled with dust. But now it has completely changed, the road is both beautiful and clear. I have high hopes for the development of the area around the airport in the future when the infrastructure is increasingly complete,” said Ms. Bich Thuy.
As a technology driver in the Can Tho airport area, Mr. Xuan Hoa could not hide his joy when the Can Tho airport beltway was opened to traffic.
Mr. Xuan Hoa shared that in the past, every time he took passengers from the airport to An Giang, Dong Thap, Kien Giang provinces, ... or the upper districts of Can Tho City and vice versa, he had to go through this road which was both bad and small, ... if he went on a nice road, it would be very far. With the airport beltway open to traffic, drivers will feel more secure because the road is spacious and airy, helping the trip to be fast and safe.
“The opening of the ring road will certainly make our work easier. In general, the opening of the Can Tho airport ring road brings great joy not only to the people but also to the drivers, contributing to facilitating work, and at the same time, bringing development to the area and Can Tho city,” said Mr. Xuan Hoa.
The Can Tho airport belt road project has a total investment of more than 137 billion VND; with a length of 1.7km; starting point at Vo Van Kiet Street (in front of Can Tho Airport gate), ending point at the intersection with Le Hong Phong Street (National Highway 91), located in Binh Thuy district.
The Can Tho airport beltway project started construction at the end of 2019 and was expected to be completed in 2020, but will not officially open to traffic until the end of 2024. This is an important route connecting Can Tho Airport with National Highway 91 to other provinces in the West.
The completion of the Can Tho airport beltway will make traffic from National Highway 91 to Can Tho airport, Vo Van Kiet Street to the center of Can Tho city more convenient, helping to reduce traffic pressure on neighboring roads.
