Floodwaters suddenly surrounded residential areas, police deployed for rescue

Quang Tri - During the night, police forces deployed to rescue people trapped in residential areas surrounded by floodwaters.

At around 8:00 p.m. on October 27, many people in Vinh Long commune (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province) were suddenly hit by floodwaters, causing their houses to be submerged.

Stuck in floodwaters, people called for help and Vinh Linh District Police deployed rescue forces.

Vinh Linh District Police urgently coordinated with forces on duty at key points, including the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police and the commune police force to approach households in Phuc Lam village and Sa Nam village (Vinh Long commune).

The police force put the elderly and children on boats and then took the people to safety.

In Gio Linh district, Gio Linh district police also urgently evacuated 12 households in Trung Hai commune to safety when flood water suddenly rose.

Currently, the river water level in Vinh Linh district continues to rise, residential areas near the river are flooded, and rescue work is continuing.
