On September 16, the People's Committee of Hung Dao commune (Hanoi) issued a notice on the temporary suspension of traffic for vehicles crossing bridge 72 over the Day River (currently a temporary bridge) in Hung Dao commune.
According to the People's Committee of Hung Dao commune, due to the influence of the circulation of the tropical depression, there have been scattered showers and thunderstorms in Hanoi city, with heavy to very heavy rain in some places. The water level on the Day River is rising very rapidly to alarm level 1.
Warning from now (September 16) to September 18, a flood will appear on the Day River with a flood amplitude of 1 - 2m.
Through actual inspection of prolonged heavy rain, the water level in bridge 72 area is rising, the flow is strong, posing a serious traffic safety risk for people and vehicles when traveling across the bridge.
According to Hung Dao Commune People's Committee, the river water level is rising very rapidly, rising about 30 cm above the bridge surface, directly threatening the structure and safety of the project.
To ensure the safety of people's lives and property and proactively prevent dangerous situations that may occur, Hung Dao Commune People's Committee announced the temporary suspension of traffic for all vehicles and people passing through bridge 72 until further notice.
Previously, for 6 days from August 23 - August 29, Hung Dao commune authorities also temporarily banned people and vehicles from traveling through bridge 72 due to the rising water level of the Day River.
