On the afternoon of June 19, at the 3rd session of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council carried out personnel work under its authority.
At the meeting, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc presented a report proposing to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training from the position of Member of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, to resolve resignation according to personal wishes.
According to the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat - Secretary of the Party Committee of Saigon Ward was appointed Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to replace Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu.
After that, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for consideration and additional election of the title of Member of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the term 2026 - 2031 for Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat was born in 1977, originally from Ninh Thuan province, now Khanh Hoa province.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat holds a degree of Associate Professor, Doctor of Political Economics, Senior in Political Theory. During his work, he held many management positions such as Head of the Organization - Personnel Department cum Head of the Faculty of Politics - Administration of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City; Director of Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Cadres.
From July 2025 to now, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat has held the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Saigon Ward.
Also at the meeting, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc submitted to the City People's Council for consideration the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Van Dong - Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Ho Chi Minh City to carry out personnel work.
