The plan to adjust the maximum allowable speed at toll stations in Ho Chi Minh City has just been proposed by the Center for Road Traffic Infrastructure Management to the Department of Transport (MOT) of Ho Chi Minh City.
This proposal was made after the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center coordinated with many related units to inspect the scene at toll stations.
The toll stations in this proposal include: Hanoi Highway toll station (Thu Duc City), Phu My Bridge toll station (Thu Duc City) and An Suong - An Lac toll station (Binh Tan district).
For the Hanoi Highway toll station, from the direction of Thu Duc intersection to Saigon bridge, the speed will decrease from 60 km/h at the intersection of Road No. 1, to 40 km/h 200m from the station and finally to 30 km/h. km/h 50m from the station. Similarly, from the direction of Saigon bridge to Thu Duc intersection, the speed will also gradually decrease as above.
At the Phu My bridge toll station, from the direction of My Thuy intersection to Phu My bridge, the speed will decrease from 40 km/h when approaching the station (180m away), to 30 km/h about 50m away from the control position. From the opposite direction, the speed will also decrease similarly.
For An Suong - An Lac toll station, from the direction of An Suong roundabout to An Lac roundabout, the speed will decrease from 60 km/h before reaching Lien Khu 4-5 road, to 40 km/h 200m from the station. and finally 30 km/h 50m from the station. The opposite direction also has a similar deceleration process.
After these proposals are approved, the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center will install new speed limit signs at toll stations.
Toll station management companies such as Hanoi Highway Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company, Phu My Construction Joint Stock Company and IDICO Infrastructure Development Investment Joint Stock Company are required to strengthen propaganda work. Communicate and organize training on measures to ensure labor safety for employees at toll stations.
In May this year, a male Hanoi Highway toll station employee had just stepped out of the cabin and walked down the lane when he was hit by a tractor-trailer at a very fast speed and died on the spot.
Previously, when no-stop toll collection was implemented, vehicles passing through stations all drove slowly to stop and wait to pay. With automatic toll collection and self-opening barriers, many fast cars or careless drivers, lack of observation, can easily cause accidents for staff working at the station.
