3 days before the New Year's transition, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh (Viet Hung ward, Hanoi) contacted a restaurant on Le Thai To street to book a table for a group of 4 people on New Year's Eve. This restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the building, with direct views of Hoan Kiem Lake.
According to Mr. Minh, the restaurant has many service packages for New Year's Eve, divided by seating position. After consulting, he decided to choose the highest package, priced at 4 million VND for a 4-person table.
In previous years, our group always had to spend time finding seats around Hoan Kiem Lake. This year, although we have to spend a not small amount of money, in return, we have a seating position in the center to watch fireworks, accompanied by snacks and drinks. It's a special occasion, so the whole group wants to experience comfortably" - Mr. Minh said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Mai Anh (Cau Giay ward, Hanoi) chose a lakeside coffee shop to celebrate the New Year with her family. She bought 3 tickets for a total price of 1.2 million VND.
The cost is not cheap, but instead of jostling in the crowd, I have a chair to sit, both drinking coffee and watching fireworks" - Ms. Mai Anh shared.

According to reporters' records on the morning of February 16, cafes and restaurants along streets such as Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To, Cau Go... all applied the form of selling tickets or collecting reservation fees on the evening of the 29th of Tet.
A coffee shop on Le Thai To street announced that it only serves pre-ordered customers, stopping receiving free customers from mid-afternoon. Ticket price 399,000 VND/person (including 1 drink or 1 ice cream). Guests who arrive early will be prioritized to choose a more convenient seat.
At another coffee shop on the same street, the price offered is 400,000 VND/person for seats outside and 200,000 VND/person for seats inside the shop. A representative of the shop said that the tables outside - where there is a wide view of the lake - are almost full.
Another coffee shop on Le Thai To street is selling two ticket classes: 500,000 VND, 900,000 VND. According to the shop manager, tables in the most beautiful area have been booked by customers since the beginning of February, currently there are only a few locations in the house or hidden corners.
Meanwhile, a coffee shop on Cau Go street sells entrance tickets for 1 million VND/person. The shop owner said that there is currently only 1 empty table left. Although the cost is many times higher than usual, the number of pre-orders is still increasing rapidly in the days leading up to Tet.
Many people believe that spending more money to have private space, beautiful views and avoid the scene of jostling in the sea of people is a reasonable choice for the first night of the new year.
