Ho Chi Minh City functional forces informed that 13 more sets of martyrs' remains were discovered at Le Thi Rieng Park and Thuong Tan commune on August 18.

On August 18, forces under the Ho Chi Minh City Command continued to search for and repatriate martyrs' remains at position 2 (Zone B), Le Thi Rieng Park.

During the day, the force was tasked with handling more than 400m3 of soil, continuing to expand the search area in Zone B. The Ho Chi Minh City Command mobilized 3 excavators, 1 dump truck and 2 3.5-ton trucks to serve excavation and transportation of soil. Through searching, functional forces discovered and collected an additional 10 sets of martyrs' remains and 5 sets of artifacts in Zone B.

From June 23 to the end of August 18, 2026, forces have discovered and collected 368 sets of martyrs' remains, of which 206 sets have artifacts. This number includes 335 individual sets of remains and 33 sets of remains at 8 collective grave locations, including 2 locations in Zone A and 6 locations in Zone B.

Digging 10m deep into a well, 3 sets of martyrs' remains found in Thuong Tan commune

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Command continued to organize the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains in the mass grave area in Lac An 3 hamlet, Thuong Tan commune, Ho Chi Minh City, belonging to Bac Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province before.

According to initial information, the martyrs were buried in the village's well area in 1968 and 1970.

After 2 days of deployment, the forces handled nearly 1,000m3 of soil, expanded the well mouth area by nearly 10m and dug about 10m deep. Through this, the search force discovered 3 sets of martyrs' remains.

According to information provided by the Thuong Tan commune government and local people, this mass grave area has 5 martyrs, of which 2 martyrs have information, and 3 martyrs have not been identified.

For many years, local people have regularly cared for and burned incense at the tomb area and wished to soon find the remains of the martyrs to bring back for burial and reunion with their families.

Currently, functional forces continue to expand the scope of searching for the remains of the remaining martyrs, and at the same time carry out necessary verification and appraisal steps to clarify information and identities of the martyrs.
