According to the schedule, the group of about 200 people travels on 67 cars with a route from Ho Chi Minh City through Binh Phuoc - Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa provinces and back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the morning of May 2, the group went to a tourist area in Da M'ri town (Da Huoai district) to visit.
At about 1:00 p.m. the same day, the group moved from this tourist area to National Highway 20 towards Da Lat city to Khanh Hoa.
At this time, two members of the group, Mr. P.V.N and Mr. N.V.D, drove two cars to block both sides of National Highway 20 for the group to cross the road, causing traffic congestion.
According to the police's verification, it was not until May 3, when the convoy moved to a restaurant in Duc Trong district. At this time, the group member, Mr. L.H.N, continued driving the car to stop in the middle of National Highway 20 to ask for a way.
This person did not allow vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat to circulate so that the convoy could enter a restaurant.
When the group left the restaurant to National Highway 20 to go to Cam Ranh city (Khanh Hoa province), a member of the group, Mr. L.H.L, continued driving the car in front.
This person stopped the vehicle close to the median strip between the two lanes of National Highway 20 to facilitate the movement of the convoy, causing traffic congestion.
Initially, through investigation, the 4 individuals mentioned above admitted that driving the car to block the road was due to an explosion, without receiving any notice from anyone with the purpose of allowing the convoy to travel smoothly.
These people have realized their violations of the law and violations of regulations on road traffic safety and order. This affects traffic safety and order and cooperates with authorities to handle the incident.
According to Lam Dong Provincial Police, the above individuals' actions violated the crime of " stopping vehicles illegally causing traffic congestion" violating Point k, Clause 5, Article 6, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
The Investigation Agency of Lam Dong Provincial Police has temporarily detained documents related to the violating vehicles and the driver's license of the violator to serve the verification and handling of the case.
