On the afternoon of November 3, people discovered a body stuck in the embankment of Lang Co, Phu Quy island district. The body was located in the 4-legged concrete wave-breaking pillars.
The incident was reported to the authorities who came to the scene. Many curious people came to see the incident. Many people suspected that this was the body of C.H.M (born in 2005, residing in Lam Dong province) who went missing after being swept away by waves while SUP rowing on October 26.
Mr. M's relatives also came to the scene to identify him. However, because the body was in the process of decomposition, the authorities will have to take professional measures to determine the exact identity.
In recent days, Phu Quy islanders and authorities have searched for many days, diving in every location, on islands and rocks around the island, even using canoes and flycams to search, but still without results.
As reported, at around 4:45 p.m. on October 26, a group of 6 tourists went swimming at the beach in Long Hai commune, Phu Quy island district, Binh Thuan. The group used 2 Sup boards to paddle on the sea. At around 5:45 p.m., while paddling, the waves swept 2 Sup boards with 6 tourists about 200 meters away from the shore. After that, 1 tourist called the villa owner for help.
At around 6:10 p.m. the same day, people used boats to find 3 people on a Sup and brought them to shore. On the remaining Sup that was swept away by the waves, Mr. N.X.H on this Sup swam to shore at 7 p.m. Many boats, canoes, fishing boats, divers and forces expanded the search area. On the morning of October 27, a female tourist was rescued by fishermen while clinging to a life buoy in the sea.
