On the morning of January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), Van Don International Airport welcomed the first flight to Quang Ninh in the new year 2025.
Flight VJ230 of VietJet Air, departing from Ho Chi Minh City, landed in Van Don at 8:30, carrying 154 passengers.
Attending the welcoming ceremony for the "first flight" were leaders of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, leaders of Van Don district and representatives of Van Don International Airport.
Among the passengers, there were many international delegations from southern provinces and cities coming to Quang Ninh for sightseeing.
Welcoming the first guests of the new year demonstrates the hospitality and friendliness of Quang Ninh, while spreading the image of a safe and attractive destination.
According to the plan, from January 29 to February 5 (ie the first to the eighth day of Tet), Van Don International Airport is expected to welcome 12 round-trip flights on the Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don route, bringing thousands of tourists to visit and travel.
Van Don International Airport is also promoting the opening of new domestic flights to Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and reconnecting routes to Can Tho and Da Nang.
Regarding international flights, the unit is implementing series charter and charter methods to connect Van Don with key markets such as China and Korea, promising to create strong development momentum for the Quang Ninh tourism industry in 2025.
This morning, a group of 350 tourists completed entry procedures into Vietnam through Mong Cai International Border Gate.
It is expected that on the first day of the new year, Mong Cai will welcome about 12,186 tourists entering the country to visit destinations in Quang Ninh and Vietnam.

During the Lunar New Year 2025, Mong Cai is expected to welcome about 90,000 visitors, an increase of 15% over the same period last year.
In 2025, Mong Cai aims to welcome more than 4 million visitors, including more than 2.5 million international visitors, continuing to affirm its position as an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.
Quang Ninh in general aims to welcome 20 million visitors, including 15.5 million domestic visitors and 4.5 million international visitors in 2025.
