According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the central area of Sa Pa began to become crowded and congested from the afternoon of August 31. By this afternoon (September 1), the congestion had decreased but there were still many vehicles, making movement difficult.
On the evening of September 1, sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien (Cat Cat Village management unit) said: "The traffic jam at tourist spots in Sa Pa only occurred locally for a short time this afternoon, mainly at the Violet intersection to Trang A Pao. The tourism units proactively spread people along the road to the village to coordinate with the Traffic Police to regulate vehicles."
Mr. Duong Quoc Hieu (owner of an accommodation facility in Sa Pa) said that Ta Van is an area that attracts a lot of tourists because of the impressive rice harvest season. Coffee shops and restaurants from the center are all packed with customers. If you don't book in advance, it's hard to find a table or you have to wait a long time.
At peak time this morning (September 1), the road to Ta Van was completely congested, many people had to get off, walk, and catch a motorbike taxi to continue their journey.
