The Ba Ho - Ban Chua project has a total investment after adjustment and supplementation of more than 262 billion VND, the implementation period is from 2018 to 2020 and has been allowed by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to extend the project implementation period twice, until December 31, 2021.
The project is tasked with providing water and creating a source to irrigate 80 hectares of the Winter-Spring crop, providing domestic water for 160 households; raising water levels, improving the ecological environment, and aquaculture, and includes 24 items implemented in 8 communes of Cam Lo district and 2 wards of Dong Ha city.
At the end of the project (December 31, 2021), the People's Committee of Quang Tri province proposed that central ministries and branches consider and report to the Prime Minister for permission to extend the implementation period, but so far it has not been approved.
By the time the collective and individuals met to review the above responsibilities, the project had only completed construction, handed over, put into operation and promoted investment efficiency for 13/24 works; 8/24 construction items had been completed but had not been accepted; 3/24 works had not been completed. In particular, some works had been completed and put into use but had been degraded, damaged, and not promoted their functions... Because of these violations, voters in Cam Lo district continuously expressed their opinions.
Faced with the situation of slow project implementation, limited investment efficiency, and waste of support resources from the Central Government, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has directed the investor and related units to review and evaluate the overall situation of the project; identify the causes and promptly propose solutions to overcome existing problems and obstacles in order to soon complete and put the project into effective exploitation and use.
