Ho Chi Minh City - Tan Son Nhat is expected to serve about 130,000 passengers per day during the National Day of September 2nd, especially during the two peak days, it can reach 135,000 passengers.

According to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, in 6 days from August 28 to September 2, the number of passengers passing through the airport is expected to increase when people start the National Day holiday.

Tan Son Nhat is expected to serve an average of about 130,000 passengers per day, an increase of about 4% compared to the present and an increase of about 16% compared to the peak National Day holiday in 2025.

The two days expected to be most crowded are August 29th and September 2nd, with about 135,000 passengers per day.

The number of flights in these days is also forecast to increase. Tan Son Nhat is expected to operate an average of about 780 flights per day, of which the two days of August 28 and September 2 may reach about 800 flights/day.

Previously, during the Summer 2026 peak, from June 1 to August 15, Tan Son Nhat served more than 9.6 million passengers, averaging about 126,000 passengers per day. The busiest day during this period was July 19, with more than 142,000 passengers.

To serve the increased number of passengers during the September 2nd holiday, Tan Son Nhat said it will coordinate with airlines and related units to proactively handle cases of flight delays, cancellations or changes in plans.

At the terminal, functional forces will strengthen guidance and support for passengers, and at the same time organize traffic diversion at check-in areas, security checkpoints, departure gates and luggage receiving areas to limit prolonged congestion.

Outside the airport, Tan Son Nhat International Airport coordinates with the Police force and functional agencies to organize traffic diversion, arrange areas for picking up and dropping off passengers and handle the situation of illegal buses, soliciting passengers, collecting fees or parking surcharges against regulations.

On August 28, Tan Son Nhat International Airport coordinated with Tan Son Nhat International Airport Border Gate Police and the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police to organize a launching ceremony to ensure security and order, and traffic safety at the airport during the peak National Day.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport recommends passengers to proactively arrive at the airport early to avoid being affected by traffic congestion or crowded situations at the terminal. Domestic flight passengers should be present about 2 hours before departure, international passengers about 3 hours.

Passengers are also encouraged to check in online or use self-check-in kiosks at the airport to reduce waiting times.
