Tan Son Nhat continues to be affected by flights due to lightning-fast kites

    Ho Chi Minh City - On the evening of August 13, operations at Tan Son Nhat airport were affected after 3 kites with flashlights were discovered in the sky near the airport area.

    Accordingly, the incident was recorded at about 7:47 pm in the Tay Thanh ward area, Ho Chi Minh City. Three kites were released at night and lay on the approach direction of the plane.

    Immediately after detecting the flying object, the Air Traffic Control Center temporarily restricted flights from other airports to Tan Son Nhat.

    Some aircraft on route from Gia Lai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh... are coordinated to fly to wait in a suitable area, to ensure safety during the time functional forces handle the incident.

    This lasted more than 10 minutes. Functional forces coordinated with units in the area to deploy handling. After the kites were controlled, exploitation activities at Tan Son Nhat returned to normal.

    Previously, on August 11, Tan Son Nhat also detected UAVs entering the restricted flight area. The incident happened twice, causing operations at the airport to be affected, more than 73 flights had to adjust departure times, affecting thousands of passengers.
