On March 26, information from the Department of Construction of Lao Cai province said that on the morning of March 31, Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Yunnan province (China) will organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a road bridge across the Red River at the Bat Xat (Vietnam) - Ba Sai (China) border.
The total investment capital for the bridge construction is about 282 billion VND. The project will be completed after 18 months from the date of construction.
The location for the construction of the Red River overpass on the Vietnam side is at Ban Vuoc border gate, Bat Xat district, about 700 m downstream of milestone 97 of the Red River.
The construction scale includes: Extradosed main bridge over the Red River (low- tower cable-stayed bridge) with a span diagram: (China) 60m + 110m + 60m (Vietnam); reinforced concrete girder beams for construction using the corridor casting method combined with low-voltage cable-stayed bridges, tower pillars with a height of 20 m from the bridge surface.
The bridge is 35.3 m wide (including the width of the tower). Of which, the Vietnamese side invested in the construction of half of the main bridge (115 m long).
The bridge and approach road on the Vietnamese side are 40 m long and made of reinforced concrete beams cast on fixed scaffolding.
The bridgehead road is 232.5 m long, with a roadbed width of 35 m, and a road surface width of 25 m. The road surface is made of asphalt concrete, ensuring Eyc≥140Mpa.
