At this time, the area experienced heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. A lightning bolt hit directly the sugarcane honey tank of the factory, causing the tank to be punctured, and all the honey inside spilled out.
As a result, about 2,000 tons of sugarcane seed spilled into the factory premises, with estimated damage of 7-8 billion VND," the factory representative informed.
According to this person, previously, in 2025, the factory was also affected by floods. This incident continued to cause great damage, affecting the production and business activities of the enterprise.
Mr. Dang Dinh Luc - Chairman of Nhan Hoa Commune People's Committee confirmed that the local government has received a report on the incident from the factory.
According to Mr. Luc, the amount of sugarcane seed spilled outside is estimated at about 2,000 tons, causing great damage to businesses. In addition, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms also affected some villages in the area, and damage is currently being reviewed and statistically analyzed.
At the same time, according to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, many mountainous localities in Nghe An experienced thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and hail, causing damage to property and production of people.
