According to initial information, at around 0:00 on the night of September 6, a lightning strike hit the front of the house of Mr. Le Van Mua (residing in Dong village), causing a broken wall, bricks and mortar to fall, puncture the porch roof and damage the cement roof. The incident did not cause any human casualties.
Immediately after the incident, the locality directed the authorities to check, count the damage and consider supporting the family to overcome the consequences. At the same time, the People's Committee of Nhon Chau commune warned people to be on guard against tornadoes and lightning during thunderstorms.
Nhon Chau commune, also known as Cu Lao Xanh, is the only island commune of Gia Lai province, located about 20km from the mainland.
