On the morning of October 1, according to information from the Traffic Safety Committee of Hai Duong province, in the first 9 months of 2024, there were 539 traffic accidents and collisions in the province, killing 182 people and injuring 457 people. Compared to the same period in 2023, traffic accidents increased by 291 cases, 25 more deaths and 309 more injuries.
Of these, 534 road traffic accidents occurred, killing 180 people and injuring 457; 3 railway accidents occurred, killing 2 people; and 2 inland waterway accidents occurred, with no casualties.
There were 197 accidents on national highways, killing 68 people and injuring 152 people (of which, on the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, there were 6 accidents, killing 4 people and injuring 13 people). There were 174 accidents on provincial roads, killing 60 people and injuring 143 people; 49 accidents on rural roads, killing 18 people and injuring 48 people; 114 accidents on urban and district roads, killing 34 people and injuring 114 people.
Authorities have detected and handled 34,020 cases of traffic safety law violations, imposed fines of over VND94.4 billion, revoked 9,420 driving licenses, 2 car badges, 1 transport business license, and temporarily detained 9,796 vehicles.
