In recent days, social networks have been spreading about an incident that occurred at about 2 pm on February 28. According to the shared content, in an emergency situation, a man driving a car continuously honked the horn to ask for leniency, moving quickly to Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 to rescue a child who was choked with a foreign object.
According to the sharing, due to the extremely urgent situation, he turned on the warning turn signal, flicked the light to ask for directions from afar and sometimes ran a red light to promptly take the baby to the hospital.
It is known that the man appearing in the above clip is Mr. Duy Binh (born in 1995, residing in Bac Giang ward, Bac Ninh).
Talking to reporters, Mr. Binh said that that afternoon he was sitting drinking water with friends when he heard screams from people next to the coffee shop.
“When I ran out, everyone was gathering around a child showing signs of foreign object choking. The child's face turned red and gradually turned purple, tears and runny noses flowed a lot, even mixed with blood. The child struggled continuously, breathing difficultly. Looking at that scene, I was really panicked,” Mr. Binh recounted.
Without thinking, Mr. Binh immediately picked up the baby, patted her back many times hoping the foreign object would pop out. However, the baby's condition did not improve.
He was still struggling, crying loudly and showing signs of severe shortness of breath. I understood that if I was a few more minutes late, it might be very dangerous. I ran to get the car, told everyone to carry him out and decided to take him straight to Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1," he said.
Although the distance to the hospital is only about 2km, Mr. Binh said that the baby's condition made him extremely worried. The baby's crying weakened every minute.
At that time, I just thought I had to take my child to the hospital as quickly as possible. I turned on the warning turn signal, flashed the lights continuously to ask for directions. In crowded sections, I was forced to run red lights and encroach on the lane. I knew it was a violation, but in my head I only had one thought: I had to save my child, everything would be calculated later," Mr. Binh shared.
When he arrived at the hospital, Mr. Binh carried him straight to the Emergency Department. Doctors quickly received him and performed first aid and handled the foreign object in time.
Seeing him gradually stabilize, I breathed a sigh of relief. At that time, my limbs began to tremble," he recounted.
After waiting for the child to finish emergency treatment, he also took the child and family home.
In a force majeure situation, I ran a red light to save people. I really hope the authorities will consider and understand the circumstances at that time," Mr. Binh expressed.
Ms. T. - grandmother of baby N.H. N (7 years old) shared: "If it weren't for Mr. Binh that day, I don't know what would have happened. The baby turned purple very quickly. I am really grateful to him. He is a benefactor of my family.
