Swimming with friends, 13-year-old boy drowned and died

    Gia Lai - Going to the beach with a group of friends in Chanh Loi village, a 13-year-old boy unfortunately drowned and died, although people brought him ashore for first aid.

    On February 26, a drowning incident occurred in De Gi commune (Gia Lai), killing a 13-year-old boy.

    According to initial information, at about 2:30 PM on February 25th, Ho Tuan A. (born in 2013, residing in Trung An village, De Gi commune) and a group of friends went to swim at the beach in Chanh Loi village.

    At about 3:10 pm on the same day, a group of friends discovered A. drowning, so they ran ashore to shout for help. A local young man swam out to bring A. ashore and perform first aid, but A. did not survive.

    De Gi Commune Police have coordinated with relevant forces to verify the incident, and at the same time supported the family to bring the victim's body home for funeral arrangements.

    According to officials of Chanh Loi village, in 2025, this beach area was used by Cat Khanh town (old) People's Committee to build huts as rescue posts to promptly rescue drowning cases. However, the project has not been put into operation and has to be stopped due to many reasons.
