On the evening of April 5, leaders of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai province) said that functional forces are urgently searching for 1 student missing while swimming in Quy Nhon beach.
According to initial information, a group of high school students in Dien Hong ward (Gia Lai) went to Quy Nhon to participate in the competency assessment exam. At about 5 pm on the same day, after finishing the exam, they invited each other to swim at Quy Nhon beach.
While swimming in the sea, 2 students were unfortunately swept away by the waves. Discovering the incident, people and local forces quickly organized rescue, bringing 1 student ashore safely. Currently, this student's health has stabilized.
However, the remaining student is still missing. Immediately after the incident occurred, local functional forces mobilized vehicles and coordinated with people to organize searches at sea.
According to the Chairman of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee, at the present time, the sea is rough and the waves are high, so the search work is facing many difficulties.
