The award ceremony took place at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, to honor timely actions in the critical situation that occurred on October 23 at the Neonatal Department. Attending the event were Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; Dr. Le Thi Hoai Chung, Director of the Nghe An Department of Health.

On behalf of the Ministry of Health's leaders, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan awarded the certificate of merit from the Minister of Health to 1 collective and 4 individuals for their brave actions, not managing danger to protect the lives of patients and their families: the Neonatal Department; nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang; nurse Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai; nurse Tran Thi Hong; nurse Nguyen Thi Hong.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 4 individuals: nurse Nguyen Thi Nhung, nurse Phan Thi Oanh, Mr. Luu Xuan Dung, Mr. Tran Kim Quyen.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan expressed his admiration, affirming that the actions of the medical team are proof of the qualities of a doctor: not only treating but also protecting the lives of patients in all situations. The leaders of the Ministry of Health emphasized that this is a message that the industry and society always stand side by side with health workers, and at the same time proposed to strengthen security and safety at medical examination and treatment facilities.
Immediately after the ceremony, the working group of the Ministry of Health, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Health visited Nghe An General Hospital to visit, encourage and award certificates of merit to 3 nurses being treated, including Nguyen Thuy Trang, Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, Nguyen Thi Nhung, and visited the relatives of the newborn victims.
Previously, on the morning of October 23 at the Neonatal Department, due to personal frustration, the subject Ban Van Vy (residing in Que Phong Commune, Nghe An) used a weapon to attack a number of relatives and medical staff, threatening the safety of newborns. With a sense of responsibility, medical staff and some relatives rushed in to control, evacuate, and protect the safety of children and those around them.
