On July 14, the Traffic Police Department and the Fire and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of An Giang Provincial Police organized propaganda to raise awareness about waterway traffic safety for vehicle owners and ship operators transporting tourists in Phu Quoc special zone.
The content of propaganda focuses on disseminating legal regulations on inland waterway traffic, technical safety conditions of vehicles, skills to handle situations when incidents occur, as well as the responsibility of ship owners in ensuring passenger safety.
The Traffic Police force has strengthened propaganda for vehicle owners and drivers to absolutely not carry more than the prescribed number of people, not to carry passengers at night when the weather is bad and visibility is limited; people and tourists must strictly comply with regulations on waterway traffic safety, and traffic participants must wear life jackets fully in accordance with regulations. At the same time, vehicle owners and drivers are allowed to sign commitments to strictly comply with safety regulations.
In addition, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police propagates to raise awareness for vehicle owners and vehicle operators about fire safety, as well as rescue and relief work. In addition, they also remind vehicle owners to equip themselves with life jackets, life buoys, fire extinguishers and necessary safety equipment before putting vehicles into operation.
