On the afternoon of October 29, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Colonel Tong Thanh Son - Commander of Thai Binh Province Border Guard Command confirmed that in the sea of Thai Thuy district (Thai Binh province), there had just been an incident where a fishing boat of fishermen had an accident and sank at sea, fortunately there were no casualties.
Accordingly, at around 7:00 a.m. on October 29, the border guards received a report from Ms. Pham Thi M (born in 1980, residing in residential group 9, Diem Dien town, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) that at around 0:30 a.m. the same day, Ms. M's family's wooden fishing boat (registration number TB 10356TS, length 9.6 meters, capacity 38 CV) driven by Ms. M's husband, Mr. To Ba Ch (born in 1979) left port to exploit aquatic products.
When the fishing boat reached the coordinates 20°31'200N - 106°36'300E (near buoy number 9 of the Diem Ho river mouth), it was damaged by water and sank. At that time, there were only Mrs. M and Mr. Ch on board.
Fortunately, the incident did not cause any casualties. Ms. M and Mr. Ch were able to catch a ride on another fishing boat and safely docked at 6:30 a.m. the same day. Ms. M's family also proactively contacted another vehicle to salvage the sunken fishing boat.
Upon receiving the news, the Border Guard force of Diem Dien Port Border Guard Station (Thai Binh Provincial Border Guard Command) verified the content of the incident, immediately mobilized a 520 CV boat and 5 officers and soldiers to approach the scene, and assisted the fishermen in distress in towing the boat back to the dock.
