Quang Tri - The tornado appeared when it was raining heavily, fortunately it happened in a short time, so the damage was insignificant.

At noon on November 5, the People's Committee of Hai Lang district (Quang Tri province) confirmed that a tornado occurred in Hai Hung commune for a short time and caused some damage.

The tornado occurred at around 7am the same day, in Thuan An Chanh and Lam Thuy villages.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuyen - Chairman of Hai Hung Commune People's Committee - said that at the time of the tornado, there was heavy rain, causing the roofs of 7 houses to be blown off and damage to 1 school.

“Fortunately, the tornado was short-lived and did not cause any casualties. Six houses and one church had their roofs blown off, and a school in the commune had its windows broken after the tornado passed,” said Nguyen Duc Thuyen.

Currently, Hai Hung commune is still experiencing light rain, and the locality has directed shock troops to help people overcome the damage.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, from the night of November 3 to the morning of November 5, Hai Lang district experienced moderate to heavy rain. Water levels in the rivers in the area are rising rapidly, and some inter-commune and inter-village roads are flooded. On the morning of November 5, 3 schools in Hai Lam and Hai Ba communes (Hai Lang district) allowed 974 students to stay home from school.
