At about 11:58 a.m. the same day, the unlicensed wooden boat captained by Mr. Do Van Hung (born in 1976, residing in Group 65, Ha Tu Ward), along with two crew members, Do Van Manh (born in 1991) and Do Tuan Hung (born in 2009), suddenly encountered a big wave, lost control and overturned in the Dau B area (latitude 20°4514N - 107°0955E), Quang Ninh sea area.
As soon as the news was received, the Hon Gai Port Border Guard Station mobilized a boat and 5 officers and soldiers to the scene.
At 1:00 p.m., the rescue team coordinated with fishing boat QN-40247.TS captained by Pham Van Cuong (born in 1984, residing in Ha Long ward) to rescue the 3 fishermen and take them to Cua Van fishing village for health care.
Currently, all 3 crew members are safe and in stable health.
The initial cause was determined to be due to large waves causing the ship to lose control and capsize.
