At around 10:30 a.m., Bac Son Border Guard Station received a report from the people about a man clinging to a lifebuoy and drifting at sea.
Immediately, Bac Son Border Guard Station mobilized 4 officers, soldiers and 2 high-speed boats to organize search and rescue.
At 11:05, the rescue team discovered a man in the aquaculture raft area, at coordinates 21°26'20'N - 107°50'53'E.
The victim was Mr. Doan Van Quang (39 years old, residing in Vinh Trung 2 village, Vinh Thuc commune).
Mr. Quang said that while looking at the mussel flowers, the boat's anchor rope suddenly broke. He took a buoy and jumped into the sea to save the boat, but due to big waves and strong winds, both he and the boat were swept away.
After many hours of drifting, he was lucky to drift onto the aquaculture raft and was rescued in time.
