The largest stadium in the northern mountainous region
The Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium project has a total cost of more than 500 billion VND, invested by the Thai Nguyen Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, and started construction in October 2022.
Built on an area of over 14 hectares in Phuc Triu Commune (Thai Nguyen City), this is the largest stadium in the province, meeting international standards. The project includes a main football field, a grandstand with a capacity of 22,000 seats, and a modern design, suitable for organizing major sporting events.
Recorded at the time of Lunar New Year 2025, after more than 2 years of implementation, the project has basically completed the rough construction and auxiliary items.
The outer lobby area has been plastered and painted. The inner stands are multi-level, and the roof is under construction and gradually completed.
The football field and surrounding pitch, including 8 circular lanes and 10 straight lanes, have been leveled and are currently in the process of being paved.
The railing system and access roads to the stadium have also been completed, making connection and movement more convenient.
According to information from the construction unit, the project progress has reached more than 90% of construction volume and is expected to be completed in 2025.
The project is considered one of the province's key projects, playing an important role in developing sports, tourism, services, and improving the urban appearance of Thai Nguyen.
Multi-purpose sports hall
In parallel with the stadium project, Thai Nguyen is also renovating and upgrading the multi-purpose sports stadium with the goal of turning it into a center for organizing indoor sports tournaments.
The project to renovate the Thai Nguyen Provincial Sports Stadium, located in Thai Nguyen City, has a total investment of nearly 40 billion VND, invested by the Thai Nguyen Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project started construction in December 2023 and is currently the largest stadium in the province.
According to the reporter, after nearly 1 year of implementation, items such as the main competition floor, fire prevention and fighting equipment, ventilation and air conditioning systems, and outdoor auxiliary works have been completed.
Inside the sports stadium, new rows of grandstand seats have been installed, along with modern lighting equipment, to help serve programs and organize sports tournaments conveniently.
Speaking with reporters, Mr. Luong Dinh Hien - Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Sports Stadium - confirmed that the repair and upgrade items inside the sports stadium have been completed.
"The renovation and repair of the sports hall is of great significance in helping to improve the effectiveness of training and organizing activities, contributing greatly to the development of local sports," Mr. Hien added.
