Ho Chi Minh City - Fire and Rescue Police have just successfully rescued a young man trapped in an elevator cabin in a 5-story house, An Dong ward.

On September 8, the Fire and Rescue Police Department (PC07, Ho Chi Minh City Police) said that the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 5 had just successfully rescued a young man trapped in an elevator at a 5-story house in An Dong ward.

Previously, at 2:17 am on the same day, PC07 received a report that someone was trapped in an elevator at a house on An Binh street, An Dong ward. Immediately, the unit mobilized the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 5, including 1 specialized vehicle and 6 officers and soldiers, to quickly maneuver to the scene.

At the scene, functional forces identified the victim as Mr. P.T. M. (born in 2006) who was trapped inside the elevator cabin in the middle of the 3rd and 4th floors. At this time, the young man fell into a state of panic. Police quickly calmed down the victim, and at the same time deployed forces and specialized equipment to open the elevator door. By 2:37 am, functional forces had brought Mr. M. out safely.

From the above incident, the police agency recommends that people when encountering situations of being trapped in the elevator should remain calm, absolutely do not pry or try to open the cabin doors on their own.

Victims should press the emergency alarm button, contact the elevator management unit directly or call the functional forces for timely support, avoiding finding a way to escape by themselves, causing danger to their lives.
