On the evening of September 22, the People's Committee of Trung Ly commune, Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province, said that the functional sector had coordinated with Trung Ly Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities to complete the emergency evacuation of 214 students from the school's dormitory to a safe place.

Previously, due to prolonged heavy rain, behind the boarding house of Trung Ly Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, there were many large cracks, landslides and rocks falling into 3 student rooms. In addition, the landslide also threatened many other rooms in the dormitory area.

Faced with the above situation, on the afternoon of September 22, the People's Committee of Muong Lat district directed the relevant agencies and the school to transport furniture and relocate more than 200 students to a 2-story classroom area to ensure safety.

"Normally, the school has 460 students staying in the dormitory. However, due to the weekend, 246 students went home to visit their families, while 214 students stayed in the dormitory and were evacuated to a safe place," said a representative of the Trung Ly Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities.

It is known that due to complicated developments of rain and floods, Muong Lat district has announced that students in the entire district will be off from school from tomorrow (September 23) until further notice.
