According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, during the arduous and fierce years of the resistance war against the US to save the country, millions of Vietnamese people have donated their youth, intelligence and blood to protect the country's independence and unity.
In that powerful force, Thanh Hoa Police is proud to have 589 outstanding officers and soldiers volunteering to support the Southern battlefield and perform international missions in Laos and Cambodia.

With the spirit of "All for the big front line, all for the Southern region", Thanh Hoa Police has launched an emulation movement to study and follow Uncle Ho's Six Teachings, associated with patriotic movements in the locality. Thereby training political mettle, fighting spirit, and the spirit of being ready to sacrifice for independence, freedom, and national unity.
Among the officers and soldiers who volunteered to enter the battlefield, many were leaders at the department, department, and district levels, leaving a mark of achievement on the front line. More than 100 comrades have heroically sacrificed, many of whom have suffered lifelong injuries - with their blood and bones contributing to the great victory of spring 1975.
One of the typical examples is the late Colonel Tong Xuan Nhuan - former Head of Thanh Hoa Police Company. In 1967, while holding the position of Deputy Head of the company, he volunteered to go to the Tri Thien - Hue battlefield support station.
In Huong Tra - an important but dangerous base area, he directly directed security work, protecting the safety of revolutionary forces and brain-powered agencies.
In September 1968, under his direction, the Tri Thien - Hue security forces destroyed nearly 50 enemy names at Khe Vang base - contributing to the dismantling of the plot to destroy the enemy's base. In 2015, the Party and State posthumously awarded him the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.
Another face - martyr Mai Xuan Nhu, born in 1932, from Ha Ngoc commune, Ha Trung district - the only son in the family, soon joined the guards, later becoming an officer of the Thanh Hoa Armed Police (now the Border Guard).
In 1967, he wrote a volunteer application to join the Central Highlands Front as a journalist. In 1970, during a failed battle, when he and his working group entered the temporarily occupied enemy area to mobilize the people, he and 5 comrades were arrested and shot to death.
Comrade Mai Xuan Nhu was awarded the First Class Resistance Medal, the First Class Glorious Soldier Medal and many noble awards by the State.
On the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, the reunification of the country is an opportunity to pay tribute to the children of Thanh such as Colonel - Hero Tong Xuan Nhuan, martyr Mai Xuan Nhu and hundreds of police officers of Thanh Hoa have dedicated to the young age for the cause of united river. It was they who wrote the immortal - silent but glorious song - in the journey of national liberation, adding more glorious traditions of the homeland of Thanh Hoa and the Vietnamese People's Police force.
