Hai Phong - The old man over 70 years old had to live on the sidewalk of Cho Hang Street, causing a stir in public opinion, and was welcomed back by his relatives.

After the incident of a man over 70 years old having to live on the sidewalk of the house he lived with his ex-wife caused a stir in public opinion, on the morning of August 9, Mr. N.V.P was picked up by his sister living on Mieu Hai Xa Street, Hai Phong City.

According to people living around house number 1/440 Cho Hang street, Mr. P having to live on the sidewalk has been happening for a long time. Previously, Mr. P and his wife, Mrs. T, had divorced and then moved in together. Mr. P is a gentle, kind person, patient and diligent in taking care of his children and grandchildren. Mr. P and Mrs. T's house is very large, and there are still rooms for rent.

"Recently, the family had a fight over land, and Mr. P was pushed out of the house. The residential group repeatedly tried to reconcile but failed. Occasionally, Mr. P's younger sister welcomes him home, and a few days later, Mr. P returns to the sidewalk of Mrs. T's house to sit" - a neighbor of Mr. P's house said.

Previously, as Lao Dong reported, social networks shared photos and stories about an elderly man living on the streets.

According to shared information, a man named P is over 70 years old and has been married for more than 40 years. The couple has a son born in 1982. Recently, Mr. P was seriously ill, and his wife also said that his son was not Mr. P's son. Up to now, Mr. P has no place to live and has to sit in front of house number 1/440 Cho Hang in the hot weather.

The story attracted the attention of public opinion, most of whom were heartbroken by Mr. P's situation, condemned the indifference and insensitivity of his wife and children; at the same time, hoped that the authorities would demand justice for Mr. P and help him have a place to live. On August 8, many people came to Mr. P's place to visit, encourage, give gifts...

On the morning of August 9, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of Le Chan ward said that the local government had grasped the incident and assigned a professional department to verify and investigate. The ward police also quickly took action and reported this incident.

Initial information shows that Mr. N.V.P (born in 1954, residing on Cho Hang Street, Le Chan Ward, Hai Phong, was married to his wife named T, and had a son born in 1982 (later known that this was not Mr. P's biological son). However, in 1996, Mr. P and Mrs. T divorced.

After the divorce, the two returned to live together. At this time, Mr. P's house was no longer his house, Mr. P was also divorced from his wife, so his children did not let Mr. P stay at home, leading to Mr. P having to sit on the sidewalk.

According to the local government, through verification and investigation, Mr. P had 2 brothers, 1 on Mieu Hai Xa Street, 1 on To Hieu Street. The locality has also invited Mr. P's family to work to listen to his family's opinions; at the same time, review the policies that Mr. P is eligible for according to regulations to have timely support directions.
