Creating conditions for voters to exercise their right to vote
These days, preparations for the election day in Co Do commune (Can Tho City) are being urgently deployed. In addition to completing voter lists and strengthening propaganda, the locality has developed a plan to use auxiliary ballot boxes to serve voters who cannot reach the polling station.

Mr. Lu Thanh Hien - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Co Do Commune Election Committee said that so far the preparations for the election day in the area have basically been completed. The Commune Election Committee has established sub-committees to serve the election; announced the list of candidates according to regulations; and at the same time strengthened inspection to ensure security and order in the area.
From now until the election day, the locality will continue to review voter lists, promote propaganda to ensure that all eligible voters can participate in voting," Mr. Hien said.

According to Mr. Hien, supplementary ballot boxes are reserve ballot boxes that can be moved out of the voting room if necessary. When voters are sick, old, or disabled and cannot come to the polling station, the election team will bring supplementary ballot boxes and ballots to the place for voters to exercise their voting rights.
Careful preparation for election day
To implement this plan, Co Do commune has prepared 25 auxiliary ballot boxes corresponding to 25 polling stations in the area. From 10 to 3 days before the election day, election teams proceed to issue voter cards to each household and review voter lists.
Cases of elderly voters, people with disabilities or those who are sick should be especially noted to have appropriate support plans.

According to the procedure, auxiliary ballot boxes must be sealed before leaving the polling area. When arriving at voters' houses, members of the election team guide voters to conduct voting in accordance with regulations, ensuring the principle of secret ballot.
The process of carrying auxiliary ballot boxes is always supervised by representatives of the Fatherland Front Committee or representatives of local people to ensure transparency. After completion, the ballot boxes are sealed and taken to the polling station.
According to the Co Do Commune Election Commission, the whole commune currently has more than 24,000 voters, of which ethnic minorities account for about 24%. The voter list has been publicly posted at community activity points for people to check and compare.
The deployment of auxiliary ballot boxes at home helps elderly voters or those with travel difficulties still have the right to vote, contributing to ensuring that all citizens participate in the election day.
