Vo Van Kiet Street extended
Vo Van Kiet Street - the main artery of Ho Chi Minh City, is currently about 13km long from Calmette Bridge (District 1) to National Highway 1 (Binh Chanh District), with a road surface of 60 m wide, accommodating 6 - 10 lanes.
According to the plan, this route will be extended to Hai Son - Tan Do industrial park (Duc Hoa district, Long An), keeping the scale of 60m.

The section through Ho Chi Minh City is about 12.5km long, running to the intersection with Ring Road 3, with a total investment of nearly VND5,800 billion, of which the cost of site clearance is about VND3,145 billion.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Public Transport said it is preparing a pre-feasibility study report to submit to the competent authority to decide on the investment policy, expected to be implemented before 2030.
New road opening in the Northwest
This new route is planned to connect from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 through Vinh Loc Industrial Park (Binh Chanh District) to Provincial Road 823D of Long An.
The section through Ho Chi Minh City is about 9.9km long, with a scale of 6 - 8 lanes. When completed, this will be an important rotating axis connecting Ring Road 2 to, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and promoting industrial development.

The project has a total investment of about VND 5,200 billion, of which the cost of site clearance is up to VND 3,900 billion. Ho Chi Minh City plans to implement it in the form of public-private partnership (PPP) before 2030.
National Highway 50B
As a vital traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Long An and Tien Giang, National Highway 50B is planned to be 55 km long, helping to strengthen economic connectivity between the West and the key economic region in the South.
The section through Ho Chi Minh City is about 5.8km long, starting from Pham Hung Street through Binh Chanh and Nha Be districts. The route has a scale of 6 lanes, 40m wide, with a total preliminary investment of nearly 5,300 billion VND.

The project has been added to the Ho Chi Minh City Master Plan adjustment project to 2040, with a vision to 2060. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has included it in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030.
Expanding National Highway 1
The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1, the section from Kinh Duong Vuong Street to the border of Long An, has just been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for investment under the BOT (build - operate - transfer) form.
The route is 9.62km long, expanded to 60m, with a scale of 10 - 12 lanes with a total capital of more than VND 16,285 billion.

On the route, the intersection with Kinh Duong Vuong Street will have a 4-lane overpass on National Highway 1. The An Lac roundabout to Tran Dai Nghia Street is expanded.
Binh Thuan intersection will have an additional 4-lane overpass on National Highway 1 and a 4-lane underpass on Nguyen Van Linh Street.
The project is expected to start construction in early 2026 and be completed in 2028.
Expanding Nguyen Van Bua Street
The project to expand Nguyen Van Bua Street (from Ba Giong Intersection to Provincial Road 9.9) has a total investment of more than VND 2,421 billion, using Ho Chi Minh City budget capital.

According to the plan, Nguyen Van Bua Street will be expanded to 32 - 40m.
At the same time, two new bridges, the Great Bridge and Provincial Road 9 Bridge, will be built, each 58m long and 17.5m wide, and the existing Provincial Road 9 Bridge will be expanded. The project is expected to be implemented in the period of 2025 - 2028.
