On the afternoon of March 20, at a regular press conference on the socio-economic situation, Mr. Tran Binh Thien, Deputy Chief Inspector, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, informed that the unit is coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City Police to investigate and clarify two cases related to the Chagee milk tea brand.
The first case involves information on social networks about Chagee's badge printed with Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum but the caption is untrue. The Department is verifying the subject, scope and authority for handling.

The second case involved the Chagee store in District 1 and its application being accused of using the image of an illegal "interrupted road". The Department has worked with Chagee Vietnam Co., Ltd. to clarify and handle the matter according to regulations.
Mr. Thien affirmed that any violation of the use of images of Vietnam maps or infringement on national sovereignty will be strictly handled according to the law.
The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City is the agency handling violations related to culture, sports, advertising, journalism, publishing and electronic information. Ho Chi Minh City Police handle violations of social order and safety, network information security and national security.
People can report violations through the fake news reception portal (tingia.gov.vn), hotline 1022 or competent state management agencies.
The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City recommends that people and organizations use images of the map of Vietnam from official sources, avoid editing, causing misunderstandings or distorting national sovereignty.
Previously, on March 14, social networks were abuzz with the news that Chagee Vietnam's application displayed a detailed map image that looked like a "broken road".
One user said that she downloaded the application to get a voucher to receive free milk tea according to the instructions. However, right from the step of choosing a geographical location on the application, she discovered a detailed map image that looked like a "dived road".
A series of articles have been published calling for a boycott and giving this milk tea company a one-sided assessment.
Some users called for reports of the incident to the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information; Ministry of Public Security..., requesting the authorities to intervene.
